Information we collect

We only collect the information you choose to give us. When you request a free educational booklet or a personalized calculator breakdown, we ask for four pieces of information: your full name, email address, US phone number, and state. We use these to deliver the material you asked for and, only if you opt in, to send related educational follow-ups.

Our server records standard web request information temporarily to prevent abuse: a hashed version of your IP address (used only for rate limiting and discarded the same day), the page you came from, and your browser's user agent string. We do not persist your raw IP address in our lead records, and we never ask for sensitive financial information such as bank account or Social Security numbers. You never need to create an account.

How we use your information

We use the information you provide to:

• Deliver the free booklet or personalized breakdown you requested.
• Send educational updates and homeownership industry information — but only if you opt in. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying STOP or contacting us.
• Respond to questions you send us.

We do not sell your information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we are not a lender, mortgage broker, or lead broker. We do not share your contact details with lenders, brokers, or third-party marketers. The information you provide is used only by HomeWise to deliver the materials you requested and the educational updates you opted in to receive.

Service providers we use

To deliver the materials you ask for, HomeWise relies on a small number of trusted service providers acting on our behalf. They are contractually limited to processing your information only as needed to provide their service to us; they do not receive permission to use your information for any other purpose.

• Resend (resend.com) — delivers booklet and educational emails. Receives the recipient email address, the first name we greet you with, the booklet topic, and the email content.
• DigitalOcean — hosts the website and the small database file where your submission is stored.
• Proton Drive (Switzerland) — provides zero-knowledge encrypted backup of the lead records. Proton cannot read the file contents.

How long we keep your information

Active lead records stay in our database until you ask us to delete them. Daily encrypted backups of the lead file are retained for 90 days and then automatically discarded. Internal access logs to our admin dashboard are retained for 30 days. You can request deletion of your information at any time by emailing us — see Your choices, below.

Anonymous site analytics

To understand how many people read each booklet and where the form loses people, we collect a small amount of anonymous, on-page funnel data: which booklet page was viewed, which step of the form was reached, and whether a submission completed. This data is associated with a randomly salted visitor identifier that rotates every 24 hours, so a single visitor cannot be identified or tracked across days, and we never store cookies on your device for this purpose. We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or any third-party tracking technology.

Your choices

You stay in control of your information:

• Email: every educational email includes an unsubscribe link.
• Text/phone: reply STOP to any text from us to opt out.
• Updates: receiving educational updates is always optional and is never required to download a free booklet or use any tool on this site.
• Access & deletion: you may ask us to access or delete your information at any time by emailing us. We will confirm action within 30 days.

Data security

We take reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the information you submit. The website is served over HTTPS only, the admin dashboard is restricted to a private network requiring two-factor access, and our lead database lives outside the public web root with restrictive file permissions.

Please understand, however, that no information transmitted or stored online is ever completely secure: no website, platform, or organization — including HomeWise — can guarantee absolute security against every possible breach, interception, or unauthorized access. You provide your information with this understanding, and we encourage you to share only what you are comfortable submitting online.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for adults considering a home purchase or refinance and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
